When I was a child, I went to my grandmother’s house and saw my cousin bring back a pair of adorable little white rabbits from the night market. They were soon locked in a cage, where they ate, drank, and slept every day in the same old place. Not long after, when I returned there for another holiday, the rabbits had grown much bigger, but the cage seemed smaller in comparison. Still, they continued to eat, drink, and sleep inside the cage. In that moment, I felt a sense of sadness, and a thought suddenly struck me: Would they really spend their whole lives inside this little tiny cage?
